Karl Kandt - Helping Veterans Transition to Civilian Careers
Karl Kandt is a veterans employment representative with the within the state of Kansas. He works with veterans with service connected disabilities, helping them transition into civilian life and achieve their employment goals. He does one-on-one career counseling, providing services such as career planning, job search and interview coaching, and resume and cover letter assistance. Karl Kandt also partners with employers and community organizations to expand employment opportunities for veterans and their eligible spouses.
Karl Kandt spent more than eight years with the US Department of Veterans Affairs as a vocational rehabilitation counselor. In that role, he helped veterans with service connected disabilities develop individualized career plans and guided them through the stages of rehabilitation until securing employment. He further conducted ergonomic assessments where necessary, partnering with contractors to conduct job and home assessments and recommend appropriate assistive equipment.
Karl earned a BA in communication and an MS in counselor education from Emporia State University. He also has an MS in sport administration from Wichita State University. Earlier in his career, he worked at Emporia State University, Wichita State University, and Kansas State University.
Beyond career planning, Mr. Kandt supports Kiwanis International Organization and enjoys traveling, watching college sports, and being outside ranching and farming.
